Moments later, Dusk Shine, Rainbow Blitz, and Spike had arrived at Manehatten. "Wow." Dusk Shine said in awe as he looked at the city below them. "Is that all one town?" Spike nodded, and said "One town. A million troubles. The one and only Manehatten. The big apple itself. If you can make it there, you can make it anywhere." They landed softly on the ground, and entered the crowd. As they began to cross the street, Spike said "Stick with me, you two. This city is a dangerous place." They almost got hit by a passing carriage. "Look where you're going numbskull!" The pony driving the carriage said. "Hey, I'm walking here!" Spike yelled back. He looked at Dusk Shine, and said "You see what I mean? I'm telling you. Wackos." "Wackos is right." Rainbow Blitz said as they continued to walk. As they went down the small steps, a pony smuggler stop them, and said "Hey, mac. You wanna buy a sundial?" "He's not interested, all right?" Spike said as they went past him. "Come on, Dusk Shine." As they went down some more stairs, an earth pony named Hayseed Turnip Truck who was having panic attacks hugged Rainbow Blitz, and said "The end is coming! Can't you feel it?!" "Get off of me, brony!" Rainbow Blitz said as he moved away from the crazy earth pony. Spike faked a smile, and said "Yes, yes. Thank you for the info. Yes. We'll ponder that for a while. Just stare at the sidewalk." As Hayseed Turnip Truck walked away, Spike got on Dusk Shine's back, and said "Come on. Don't make eye contact. The ponies here are nuts. That's because they live in the city of turmoil. Trust me, Dusk, you're gonna be just what the doctor ordered."

At a fountain in the town square, an earth pony named Octavia Melody who was washing a scarf sighed sadly, and said "It was tragic! We lost everything in the fire." A unicorn named Party Favor who was covered in ashes and dust from the fire held up a cat named Opalesence who was also covered in ashes and dust from the fire with his magic, and said "Everything except old Opal here." Opalescence meowed in pain. "Now, were the fires before or after the earthquake?" A pegasai pony named Soarin asked. A trembling earth pony named Sapphire Shores held up a broken pot, and said "They were after the earthquake, I remember." "But before the flood." Octavia Melody said as she squeezed the water out of the scarf into the broken pot that leaked the water out. "Don't even get me started on the crime rate." An elderly earth pony named Pappy Smith said as Dusk Shine, Rainbow Blitz, and Spike got close enough to hear them. They smiled as they saw an opportunity to talk to them. "Manehatten has certainly gone downhill in a hurry." Octavia Melody said. "Tell me about it." Pappy Smith said. "It seems like every time Ah turn around, there's some new monster wreaking havoc, and Ah-!" Party Favor interrupted him, and said "All we need now is a plague or locusts."

A locust appeared out of nowhere, and made a noise. They screamed, and Pappy Smith said "That's it! Ah'm moving to Appleloosa!" "Excuse me." Dusk Shine said as he gently approached them. He cleared his throat, and said "It, uh, seems to me that what you folks need is a hero." They just stared at him as if they are not impressed at all. "Yeah? And who are you?" Soarin asked. Spike nudged Dusk Shine to get him to say more. "I'm Dusk Shine." Dusk Shine said. "And, uh, I happen to be a hero." The crowd just laughed at him as Octavia Melody said "A hero?!" "Is that so?" Pappy Smith asked looking at Dusk Shine. "Have you ever saved a town before?" "Uh, no, uh, not exactly." Dusk Shine said. "But I-!" Soarin interrupted him, and said "Have you ever reversed a natural disaster?" "Well, uh, no." Dusk Shine said. "Oh, listen to this. He's just another chariot chaser!" Soarin said as he, and the rest of the crowd started to leave. "This we need!" "That's a laugh." Sapphire Shores said. "Don't you pea brains get it?!" Spike asked as they stopped walking at looked at him in confusion. "This colt is the genuine article!" "Hey, isn't that the dragon who trained Star Swirled The Bearded?" "Watch it pal!" Spike said getting angry." "Hey, you're right!" Soarin said. "Hey, nice job on those heels! You missed a spot!" As they laughed, Spike said "I got your heel right here!"

The dragon ran at Soarin, and tackled him as he started to punch him multiple times. "I'll wipe that stupid grin off your face!" Spike said as Dusk Shine began to pull him away from Soarin, and said "Hey Spike! Spike! Spike! Take it easy, Spike!" When he suceeded in stopping the fight, Rainbow Blitz said "Totally uncalled for, Spike!" "What are you crazy?!" A bruised and beaten Soarin asked as he crawled away. "Sheesh!" "Young stallion, we need a professonal hero." Octavia Melody said. "Not an amateur!" She turned away as Spike stuck his tounge out at her. "Well, wait! Stop!" Dusk Shine said as he tried to get the crowd to stay, but they just kept on walking. Dusk Shine sat down next to a statue, and sighed sadly. "How am I supposed to prove myself a hero if nopony will give me a chance?" He asked. "You'll get your chance." Spike said. "You just need some kind of catastrophe or disaster." Suddenly Twilight Sparkle appeared in the large crowd as she said "Please! Help! Please! There's been a terrible accident!" "Twilight?" Dusk Shine said as he turned to see her. "Speaking of disaster." Spike muttered. Rainbow Blitz hoofpalmed himself, and muttered "Oh no. Not her again." Twilight Sparkle spotted Dusk Shine, and ran to him as she said "Wondercolt! Dusk Shine! Thank goodness!" She hugged him as he said "Wha-What's wrong?"

"Outiside of town, two little foals, they were playing in the gorge." Twilight Sparkle said. "There was that rock slide, a terrible rock slide. They're trapped!" "Foals? Trapped?" Dusk Shine asked. He looked at Spike, and said "Spike, this is great!" "You are really choked up about this, aren't you?" Twilight Sparkle asked. Dusk Shine grabbed her, and said "Come on!" As he placed her on Rainbow Blitz's cloud, and jumped on, Twilight Sparkle said "No, I-! You don't under-! I have this terrible fear of heights!" Rainbow Blitz looked at the terrified Twilight Sparkle, and smirked. He decided to have some fun, so he began to go faster to their destination. As everypony began to follow them, Spike started to run after them, and said "I'm right behind you, Dusk!" He began to pant as he became exhausted. As he continued to run, he said "I am way behind you, Dusk. I got a scaly wedgie."
